Adobe Flash Stops Supporting Flash on Android Beginning August 15

It looks like Flash is dying a natural death as more and more developers ditching this once used to be the coolest web technology.

Since HTML5 has started becoming more and more widely-utilized, Flash is now being phased out from smartphones and gadgets.

The Google Play listing notes:

Flash Player is no longer being updated for new device configurations. Flash Player will not be supported on any Android version beyond Android 4.0.x.

Adobe said it was removing the option to install the plug-in because it was likely to exhibit “unpredictable behavior” when used with the latest version of Android, known as Jelly Bean.

The next time you update an Android device or get a new phone don’t be surprised if Flash Player suddenly stops playing. Just cross your fingers and hope that the Flash content you wish to see quickly becomes the HTML 5 content that you can actually see.
