Let’s get straight to the point, currently there’s still no unlock available for baseband 4.12.02.

There’s still no method to allow you to downgrade to a baseband that can be unlocked with ultrasn0w or using SIM interposer such as Gevey SIM.

However, if you have an AT&T iPhone 4, you can unlock it by using this service.

Other possible method is replacing the baseband chip.

Let’s hope there will be an unlock soon!

This will be a lengthy process so if you have an AT&T iPhone 3GS, you can save all the troubles and unlock it permanently using this.

First of all, please be aware that untethered jailbreak for iOS 6 is not yet available and baseband 5.16.07 can’t be unlocked with ultrasn0w.

However, it is still possible to unlock your iPhone 3GS by downgrading it to 5.13.04.

In order to downgrade to 5.13.04, you must update to baseband 6.15.00 first. Baseband 6.15.00 is an iPad baseband which can break your GPS. Read the risks here.

WARNING: If you have the new iPhone 3GS 8GB, read this first. Othewise, by installing the iPad baseband, you will brick the chip and there’s no software fix available!

Did you read and understand all the risks? OK, let’s proceed.

Strangely, Apple is still signing iOS 4.1 which you need to downgrade your iPhone 3GS to. The reason why you need to downgrade to iOS 4.1 first is so that you can update your baseband to 6.15.00, and then downgrade to 5.13.04.

[Final warning: Proceed at your own risks!]

Part 1: Downgrade to iOS 4.1

1. Backup your contacts, photos, apps etc. Remove your SIM card.

2. Download iOS 4.1 firmware for iPhone 3GS or from here.

3. Download redsn0w 0.9.8rc18 for Windows or Mac.

4. Download latest version of TinyUmbrella from here.

5. Remove iTunes and install iTunes 10.4.1 for Windows (32-bit) or Mac.

6. Put your iPhone into DFU mode. See YouTube video here.

7. Launch iTunes, connect your iPhone, hold down the SHIFT for Windows or Option for Mac while you click the RESTORE button in iTunes and select the iOS 4.1 firmware file you have just downloaded. If you get an iTunes error 3194, read here on how to fix it.

8. The restore will end with error 1015 and recovery loop on the iPhone, this can be resolved using the “Exit Recovery” button in TinyUmbrella.

Part 2: Installing iPad baseband 6.15.00

9. Start redsn0w 0.9.6rc18.

10. Browse for the iOS 4.1 firmware you just downloaded.

11. Select ‘Install Cydia’ and ‘Install iPad Baseband’. Warning: installing iPad baseband will break your GPS, if you have the new 3GS made after week 28 of 2011, it does not support the iPad baseband. We will downgrade to 5.13.04 later for GPS fix.

12. Follow on screen instructions to put your device into DFU mode to begin the jailbreak.

13. When the process is done, you will find that your iPhone is now jailbroken on iOS 4.1 with iPad baseband 6.15.00. To make sure you can always go back to iOS 4.1, launch Cydia and select ‘Make my life easier.’

Part 3: Downgrading to baseband 5.13.04 (GPS Fix)

14. Now download redsn0w 0.9.14b2 that can downgrade iPad baseband to 5.13.04 for Windows or Mac.

15. Launch redsn0w. Go to Extras >Select IPSW button in redsn0w to point to the original firmware you downloaded in Step 2.

16. Do a controlled shutdown of your iPhone (“slide to power off”).

17. Return to the first screen and click ‘Jailbreak’. Check the ‘Downgrade from iPad baseband’ checkbox, uncheck Cydia and click Next.

18. Redsn0w will start doing the downgrade and you will see ‘Flashing Baseband’ screen on your iPhone with the Pawnapple icon. DO NOT INTERRUPT your iPhone while baseband flashing is in progress.

19. When done, your iPhone will reboot itself and you will now have iOS 4.1 with baseband 5.13.04 that can be unlocked with ultrasn0w.

20. You may want to update to iOS 5.1.1 which has untethered jailbreak and can also be unlocked with ultrasn0w 1.2.7. Use this tutorial here (it’s for baseband 6.15.00 but will work for any baseband). You can only install iOS 5.1.1 if you have the SHSH saved on Cydia or locally.

If you’re happy with iOS 4.1 and would like to unlock it, skip to step 21 now.

Part 4: Unlock with ultrasn0w

21. Launch Cydia from Springboard (home menu).

22. Search for ultrasn0w on Packages in Cydia. If you cannot find it, add new sources by typing ultrasn0w repo:

repo666.ultrasn0w.com (with zero, not o).

23. Install Ultrasnow 1.2.7.

24. Reboot your iPhone.

25. Turn off 3G and insert your SIM card. It should pick up your mobile signal.

Not too difficult right? If you follow the exact instructions this will work 99%.

Telltale Games announced today that the third episode in The Walking Dead video game, “Long Road Ahead,” will launch today on Mac, via digital game portal Steam of Telltale’s own website store. It will also be available on Xbox 360 and PC tomorrow, while PlayStation Network players can get it now!

The games is based on the award-winning comic and television series but of entirely different cast of characters. Episode 1 and 2 were released in April and June respectively this year.

The Walking Dead game will also be available on iOS but it will be one episode behind the Mac and consoles version. It will be released tomorrow.

This RPG game will let you play as Lee Everett, a convicted criminal, who has been given a second chance at life in a world of zombies. How fun!!

The exploit can attack through browsers that are running on Windows and Linux, and even the OS X as well, which is always said to be the “most secure” operating system ever.

Users who purchased OS X Mountain Lion from the App Store should be wary because the issue has also been proven to be exploitable on the latest public version of Apple’s operating system. Windows users which are usually prime targets should put their shields up.

The existence of the exploit is potentially dangerous but there’s no need to panic. You should disable the Java plugin until Oracle makes an update available.

If you’re overly paranoid, you can remove it completely until an update has been pushed out.

The new logo is not entirely different from the current version. The colors are the same — red, green, yellow and blue, but the logo is now square, no longer has the “waving” Window.

In fact, it’s very similar to the Windows 8 logo.

Is Microsoft trying to be “simple” like Apple?

The updated version improves the user interface and fixes bugs affecting Bluetooth.

Version 4.1 of Skype for iOS has one headline feature: the ability to send images of any size to friends and family members “without reaching email size limits or paying expensive MMS charges.” I’ve always wondered why this feature wasn’t there from day one, but it’s better late than never.

Flashing custom ROMs like MIUI, CyanogenMod  is prevented by locking an Android smartphone’s bootloader This also makes it harder to get root access.

Just a few days after Verizon Galaxy S III SCH-i535 was released, root access was made possible but there was no way of unlocking the bootloader.

This hack was developed “AdamOutler” of XDA-Developers, the Casual R131 tool for the Verizon Wireless Galaxy S III can root your device and “unlock bootloader” by flashing an insecure bootloader.

Simply download the tool, connect your Galaxy S III, launch the tool (it will say Device Connected), choose Root GS3 with DebugFSRoot and then Flash Unsecure Aboot.

There is also an app called VZW GS3 EZ-Unlock (Bootloader), you only need to tap the Unlock button to unlock your device’s bootloader. You must have root access first.

Once unlocked, please remember not accept any official updates from Verizon as they may damage your Galaxy S III.

Now we’ll just have to wait for custom ROMs to be released.

A more realistic speculation is that the sensors could be an ideal companion for Apple’s new Passbook app, which will make its debut in iOS 6.

Due to Apple’s sense of urgency of acquiring this technology, it won’t be long before we see our iPhone’s screen – ‘Touch to Unlock’ instead of the usual ‘Slide to Unlock.’
