Microsoft OneNote for Android Now Available for Download at Android Market

Adroid users can now rejoice because Microsoft OneNote app is now available free for download at Android Market!

After a long wait, OneNote for Android was announced on Microsoft’s blog yesterday. It’s a stripped down version of the desktop version, offering quick access to notes, text highlighting, bulleted lists, and checkboxes.

OneNote Mobile for Android has the following features as mentioned in their blog:

  • Text formatting, images, and bulleted lists
  • To-do lists with clickable checkboxes
  • Quick photo capture with your phone’s camera
  • Quick access to recent notes
  • Store and access multiple OneNote notebooks
  • Sync to your free SkyDrive account for access anywhere
  • Offline access to your notes
  • Option to sync notebooks only over a Wi-Fi connection
  • Built-in spelling checker
  • Support for external hyperlinks
  • Table editing

This app is available free of charge and currently available in the following countries or regions. According to Microsoft, if you don’t see your country in the list, just wait and they’re doing their best to make it downloadable for you soon.

Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Honduras, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Korea, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Niger, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay, and Venezuela.

The only limitation with the free version is that it’s limited to 500 notes. If you need to use more than that, you can download the paid, unlimited version for US$4.99.

Besides an Android phone, you’ll need a Windows Live I.D. which I believe most people should have one already.

Microsoft encourages everyone to download and should you need any technical support, you can join the forum here.

Finally, here’s the download link for Microsoft OneNote Mobile for Android.
